You don’t need a pool to set up an outdoor shower. It serves as a place to cool off when it’s hot or clean off after a dirty play session. Set up a few of these in a tree for even more fun.
You’ll need a little room for this one – and a sturdy tree or other structure – but what kid wouldn’t want a zip line in their back yard! Test the weight limit before you let the “big kids” have at it.
Now this is more my “construction” style. Tree houses don’t have to be hard to build or too high. Great set up for younger children.
For older, more “cerebral” children, outdoor game boards, like this Scrabble board, gives them a place to play in the sun. A tic tac toe board would work for the young set.
Reading Room Tent
Who wouldn’t want a tent decked out like this! Just a reminder that tents don’t have to be “rustic.”
Outdoor Movie Theater
This is so cool. Even though you may only use this once in a while, it’s easy to set up and makes for a great evening party for kids of any age.
No sidewalks or driveway to draw on? Set up a chalkboard in the backyard. Easier on the knees, too.
Fashion some plastic piping (with holes punched in), a hose and streamers and you’ve got a “walk through” wash for kids. You can arrange this in a way to accommodate tricycles or other small “vehicles.”
