Elon Musk wants to send lots of people on a trip around the Moon in an effort to make commercial space flight the norm. Obviously, travelling to space is no small feat and requires lots of money, more than most of us have, but that’s where Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa steps in. He plans to go on one of the first flights and would like his spaceflight companions to be from all over the world, and “from all kinds of backgrounds”. So, Maezawa will be giving away eight spots for free!

This free trip clearly won’t suit everyone: even though these are commercial flights, you would still need to meet a few basic requirements (fitness and mental strength are likely two of them), but all that information will still follow. For now, go ahead and pre-apply.
