Many of the largest stores are now offering COVID-19 Vaccines for free, and the post will help you navigate how to book an appointment for the vaccine, as well as providing valuable information on the vaccine by store and state.

A few things to keep in mind: for the time being, frontline workers and people over 65 take precedence in booking for the free vaccine. It’s also very important to know that even though all of these vaccines are free, you may be charged an administration free if you are not insured. That said, no one can be denied a vaccine for being unable to pay this fee.

How to get the vaccine at CVS:

  1. Vaccine: Pfizer or Moderna, depending on location.
  2. Appointment only. No drop ins.
  3. To Book: Visit the CVS COVID page.
  4. Choose your location.
  5. You will have the option to hit “Schedule an appointment now”. Remember, they may be fully booked.
  6. Fill out the short questionnaire to see if you are eligible, then choose your appointment time and attend.

How to get the vaccine at Walgreens:

  1. Vaccine: Pfizer or Moderna, depending on location.
  2. Appointment only. No drop ins.
  3. To Book: Sign into your Walgreens account and visit the vaccine page.
  4. Choose your location to see if there are available appointments near you.
  5. Fill out the short questionnaire to see if you are eligible, then choose your appointment time and attend. Be sure to bring your ID, insurance information, and your completed vaccination consent form to your appointment.

How to get the vaccine at Kroger:

  1. Vaccine: Pfizer or Moderna, depending on location.
  2. Appointment only. No drop ins.
  3. To Book: Visit Kroger’s vaccine page.
  4. Choose your location by searching with your zip. Check the available vaccines at your location.
  5. If there are available spots: Fill out your information, choose your appointment time, submit your booking and attend.

How to get the vaccine at Walmart:

  1. Vaccine: Pfizer or Moderna.
  2. Appointment only. No drop ins.
  3. To Book: Log into your Walmart account.
  4. Choose from the list of available locations near you.
  5. Fill out a short questionnaire for eligibility, then book if a slot is available.

How to get the vaccine at Sam’s Club:

  1. Vaccine: Pfizer or Moderna.
  2. Appointment only. No drop ins.
  3. To Book: Log into your Sam’s Club account or log in as a guestmembership is not required.
  4. Choose from the list of available locations near you.
  5. Fill out a short questionnaire for eligibility, then book if a slot is available.
