Save With The Bike

A great way to save a lot of money is to park your car and then ride your bike or take public transportation. Not only can you save money on gas and car maintenance, but you can also get a little more exercise into your day, thus saving gym fees as well. Many towns and cities have great public transportation systems that offer a break on their regular rates with a monthly pass.

The public transportation system is also more kid-friendly during bad weather. It is easier during inclement weather to take the bus or train when you have kids along because is warmer and more comfortable than riding a bike through rain and snow. On nice days, though, bikes will take you to work and errands just as well as your car will. Most people tend to stick close to home for their groceries and other tasks, and the type of driving they do consists up to a lot of starts and stops, which can be hard on your car’s engine.

There are also a lot of ways to take small children along on a bike trip. Bike trailers are a great way to take children in slightly rainy or windy weather. When it is a nice day, an add-on, one-wheel bike can be attached to the back of the parent’s bike and a small child can “ride” with his or her parent to the destination. Many of these child transportation products can be found used on classified advertising websites, such as Craigslist.com, or for a fair price as a new product. Be sure to check size and weight limits for bike trailers and the one-wheel bikes. And be sure your child wears a helmet. Imagine how nice it will feel to save all that money on gas and get some exercise too!

In some hotels the oil is reused for many times for making different types of items or same item .This reused oil is highly toxic and can cause dangerous diseases like cancer etc. So people should get attracted towards above mentioned recipes. Members Post: Eating Cheaply

First of all thank you Claudia. Here is her article she submitted.

Food is something for which every body put lot of effort to earn money , so that they can get proper food for them self and their family. because without food no body can survive in this world, as body needs energy for which GOD has created so many items in this world to eat, either raw or cooked. Food is important not only to the human being but to every living being in this world. Now budget food that comes into 3 categories, Rich, Middle Class, Poor. for rich people they don’t need to worry for food budget as they blessed with wealth so they can hava any range food, can get locally internationally.

Next middle class people they are not even rich nor poor so they need to consider above given three concepts budget food, getting free food locally, and reuse leftover recipes. within the limited budjet they manage to get food which is protenecious, as well as economical to buy, in their available items they prepare recipes, for preparing any food item either rich or poor same ingredients need to be used, same spices but different in quantity. And middle class people make use of leftover recipies even poor also, suppose leftover curries can be used to prepare samosas, left over cooked rice can be dried and can prepare kurkure, like this food can be reused without wasting.

And the best use of leftover food is giving it to the poor, because in this world uncountable poor people are there they even can’t afford to have food for many days. If every rich and higher middle class people keep this in mind and give leftover food to the poor, so many hungry people in this world can get food for a day at least, I am talking about not to waste food. other means are also there to remove poverty by donating , providing job, education, etc.

When you take your monthly expense if you are eating well then it would show that you have spend a considerable amount of money for food and your grocery. You can control the bill by eating smartly and save a lot of money. Dumping the leftovers is one foolish mistake that we usually make.

Reusing the leftovers the next day by preparing it or modifying it is a wise idea to save your grocery bill. Leftover rice can be reheated adding cut vegetables to make it more tasty and healthy and can be served for lunch. Oil, ghee, butter and cheese are the most expensive and unhealthy ingredients while cooking food.

The usage of these ingredients can be cut down to save a lot of money on food. Eating from hotel also is very expensive and need to be avoided as far as possible.

Cooking at home is healthier as well as cheaper. There are lot of simple and budget food recipes that you can follow to save on food. For dinner it is better to have lots of steamed vegetables which are healthy and nutritious. At times there may be family feast and parties where you can have free food.

There also would be religious ceremonies where they provide free food locally to the community in gatherings and religious feasts. Hence think well before you spend on food.

Ten Modern Day Savings Tips

1) Use Skype instead of landline phones. At around two cents a minute you can call anywhere in the world. The only drawback is that you cannot dial 911. You can purchase a Skype phone that plugs into your computer’s USB port for as little as $15 on ebay. Skype is cheaper to use than Majic Jack. If you buy a cell phone, always get a prepaid one and pay only by the minute. I’ve researched this extensively. Some companies (Virgin Mobile) give you a phone for free if you start off by just buying $10 worth of minutes. Virgin Mobile also gives you one minute of free airtime for every one minute you watch a commercial on line or on your phone. My wife and I pay around $6 a month for our cell phone. Previously we had two phones with another company and were paying $80 a month on one of their package deals.

2) In the winter, turn your thermostat down to 68 degrees. Cover your windows with sheets of plastic and use Thermal curtains which can be purchased at Wal-Mart or other similar stores. Also, make sure there is a clean filter in the furnace. Invest in an automated thermostat that you can preset to have the heat go even lower at night when you’re sleeping. In the summer, if you have central air, make sure your unit’s filter is clean.

3) Buy food in bulk. Ounce for ounce, buying food in bulk costs a lot less money. Make most of your meals from scratch, and make large quantities at one time. For instance, make a large pot of chili, or spaghetti, enough to last for three or four meals. Don’t buy chips, dip, snacks, or candy; eat fruit instead. Make your own chips from potatoes. Remember, pre-packaged frozen meals may be convenient, but they’re much more expensive. Learn to garden. Plant a garden and can what you don’t eat. Buy a pig or cow from the Amish and freeze it.

4) Use energy saving compact fluorescent light bulbs. If you go on a trip buy a light timer instead of leaving one or two lights on 24/7.

5) Buy all your clothes, dishes, luggage, furniture, and odds and ends from the Goodwill, the Salvation Army, or any second hand store. At around $35 to $50, new jeans are expensive. You can by jeans for under $10 at most thrift stores. I’ve purchased working color televisions for as little as $10 dollars.

6) Ride a bike when you can, buy a small motorized scooter, or car pool to work. If work is close enough, walk three times a week. 7) Never buy anything on credit.

8) Never buy a new car. New car loses value from the moment of purchase. You’re obligated not only to monthly car payments, but full insurance coverage. When you amortize the cost, even having to repair an older car every six months is cheaper than monthly car payments, interest, and full insurance.

9) Never buy a new computer, camera, videocam, or any electronic device you can purchase for far less on ebay or craigslist. If you buy or sell on craigslist, buy local, making sure to always conduct your exchange in person. On ebay, make all your purchases with the buyer protection policy Paypal provides and check the seller’s reputation

10) Cut your own hair. You can learn to cut hair from books on the subject, or better yet, search the web. I learned to cut my own hair from watching beauticians cut mine. Next time you get a haircut, pay close attention.
